Me, too. I saw/heard an interesting commentary on TCM one night about how, in order to be allowed to show US movies in England during WWII without destroying the British film industry, they mandated that a quota of British films be made and shown for each US flick shown. The commentator said the Sherlock Holmes ones were some of the favourite ones that were made to meet that quota, and that that was why there are so many of them.



As long as we're in the B&W classics mode, is the line from a Charlie Chan one?
