***SPOILER ALERT***DO NOT READ IF YOU HAVE NOT SEEN THE MOVIE***

Ok Figgy - I ordered the movie on TV so that I could refresh my memory. The second time watching it was better than the first time (disappointment can't happen twice for the same movie right haha). I even took notes to help me remember more of what was said and done. I am now completely convinced that WB (FB movies) makes movies so complex that you have to watch them 2-5 times before you even "catch" everything … it is a conspiracy! I am sure of it. I will, of course, have to watch it again - when it is free though, so that I can tape it and watch it over and over.

I think the 'near last' line said by Grindelwald is the whole purpose/plot behind the second movie.
In my opinion, I believe the entire movie was based on one of the last lines said by Grindelwald to Credence, "this was all for you".

Let's backtrack to the beginning of the movie … where the MOM says that they have cut out Grindelwald's tongue because he could be so "persuasive" (unbeknown to them, it was in fact Abernathy's tongue they cut out). I think Grindy has orchestrated all of the events so that all those he wants as key players will be on his side. He uses Paris as the city of choice because that is where the Lastrange vault is located. He knows aurors will come looking for him; he knows that Queenie will follow her sister to Paris. He knows that Credence will look for his parentage there … because he has planned it all. Grindy wants Credence; Grindy wants Queenie - and a few others of course. Having so many followers is a bonus. And we all know that telling only 'partial' stories/half truths will convince the general public to be on your side … politicians of today still use this tactic - they only tell you what you want to hear.

There is a blood pact between Grindelwald and Dumbledore … the hands were cut; the hands were joined like ancient blood brothers ritual; the droplets of blood were encased into a magical vial. They vowed never to fight each other.

Grindy NEEDS someone magically stronger than Dumbledore … so that he can use that person to defeat Dumbledore (because he, himself, is unable to do so). It is the whole purpose for Grindy wanting Credence and the power of his Obscurus. Convincing him that Dumbledore is his long lost brother was the way to win him over. The end justifies the means (no matter what means are used). Grindy wants Dumbledore dead and out of his way. Grindy NEEDS Queenie because she can read other's thoughts .. he needs her to constantly tell him what Credence and others are thinking/feeling.

Dumbledore acquiring the vial is perfect. What a great gift from Newt. That niffler indeed has earned a cup of milk. I am still very disappointed that they used McGonagall's character so chronologically incorrect though. But I guess with billions of $$$'s and a franchise, they can do anything they want.

I think the next movie will be all about how Grindy uses Credence to try to kill Dumbledore, and how Dumbledore tries to destroy the blood pact vial. I am not sure what role Nagini or Jacob will play in the third movie though. And I fear for Queenie … but I still believe she will be a key player in helping destroy Grindy in the final movie - perhaps something that happens brings her back to her senses and she tricks Grindy somehow for the final battle (and helping Dumbledore ensure that Numengard will be completely escape proof when Grindy is locked up there). Just one of my theories … I have many hahaha!

I need to see it again. In reading your ideas, I realize there is a lot I've forgotten already.

The Wizarding World will parallel the things going on in the Muggle one and we still have the economic disaster of the '30s before Dumbledore and Grindy can go toe to toe. I'm wondering how the Depression and uptake to WWII will be stirred into the mix.

Because I like Queenie, I sure hope she's a double agent. There's that way the circle of fire sort of flared up and almost stopped her that means something. You're so right about him wanting her for her occlumency abilities. But there's got to be more to her/what's going on.

I just found this: Looks like it will take them 3 years to push out the next one
https://www.digitalspy.com/movies/a6757 ... s-trailer/

Quote:
Fantastic Beasts 3 looked set for release on November 20, 2020, continuing the pattern of the first film (November 2016) and its sequel (November 2018), but nothing had been confirmed.

However, it was then reported that production had been pushed back by Warner Bros from July 2019 to late autumn, while Warner Bros will now release Dune in that slot.

Star Dan Fogler said the change is because they needed "more time to prep" and since it was never officially scheduled for November 2020, it's not like the third movie has been delayed anyway.

And it's now been confirmed that Warner Bros will release the third movie on November 12, 2021, with filming due to start in spring 2020.

Warner Bros boss Kevin Tsujihara insists that they know how to make the movie better than the underwhelming Crimes of Grindelwald.

The fourth and fifth movies are yet to receive release dates, but don't expect them in 2022 and 2024.

This puts me on the horns of a dilemma...

The last set of stories I got as addicted to as the Potter ones was Frank Herbert's Dune. I used to re-read them at least once every year, it was like going home to an old friend. So now, do I be annoyed with WB for putting off FB3 for a year, or happy about Dune?

There have been several attempts to make a good Dune, but all have fallen short. None of them have had as good of Sand Worms as the ones in my imagination, and all did stupid "Hollywood things (like leave the actors not have their heads covered while wearing their still suits, which would defeat the entire purpose of the suit), but hope springs eternal, I guess.

* side note for Dune geeks *.
Herbert's son and a guy who wrote Dune Fan Fiction discovered two boxes of notes and research Frank Herbert had left when he died. Mrs. Herbert had stuffed all the things from his office up in the rafters of the garage, and when she sold the house sometime in the 90s, the son found all this stuff. He and the Fan Fictions writer then wrote a bunch more books and stories using the "backstory" Frank Herbert had left. Its a bit like if someone found info JKR had left and wrote books about the Marauders' time. The fanfic guy frequently sounds so much like Herbert himself that you'd swear he was channeling the guy, and the son remembers bits and pieces that the info in the notes reminds him about. These newer books are pretty good.
