Integrating the Voldemort, Dumbledore, and Gindelwald timelines
One very interesting line of speculation coming out of the new film is how the timelines of Dumbledore, Grindelwald, and Newt Scamander integrate with each other. I will be creating a very detailed master timeline with all the information laid out, but in the meantime here is what we know (with a few speculations thrown in). Let the canon discussions and theorizing begin!

1881 – Dumbledore born

1883 – Grindelwald born

c. 1891 – Ariana Dumbledore attacked by Muggle boys: did she become an Obscurius and did Grindelwald learn of the power of the Obscurus from this?

1897 – Newt Scamander born

1899 – Grindelwald expelled from Durmstrang, Dumbledore and Grindelwald meet in Godric’s Hollow

1899 – August – Ariana Dumbledore killed, Grindelwald flees

1907 – Merope Gaunt is born

1908 – Newt Scamander starts Hogwarts, Dumbledore is a teacher

1918 – Augustus Worme of Obscurus Books commisions Newt to write a guide to magical creatures (the name of the publishing company is intriguing!)

1925 – c. December – Merope Gaunt fools Tom Riddle into marrying her

1926 – c. March 31 – Merope Gaunt become pregnant with Tom Riddle’s child

1926 – Newt Scamander’s beastly adventures in New York City, Newt captures Grindelwald

1926 – December 31 – Tom Marvolo Riddle born in London

1927 – first edition of Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them is published

1928 – December 6 – Rubeus Hagrid is born

1930 – the infamous “Pure-Blood Directory” is published

c. 1937 – September 1 – McGonagall starts Hogwarts

1938 – August – Dumbledore visits Tom Marvolo Riddle in the orphanage and invites him to Hogwarts

1938 – September – Tom Marvolo Riddle starts Hogwarts

1940 – September – Hagrid starts Hogwarts

1943 – summer – Tom Marvolo Riddle kills Riddle family

c. 1944 – June – McGonagall leaves Hogwarts

1945 – June – Tom Marvolo Riddle leaves Hogwarts, goes to work for Borgin and Burkes, creates diadem Horcrux

1945 – Dumbledore and Grindelwald duel to end Grindelwald’s attempt to take over the world

Watched it! I liked it, a bit too long but it wasn´t bad. Except for Depp. They should have kept Farrell, he was good! and Ezra Miller and Samantha Morton, they were great!

it was good wasn't it.
Since imdb still doesn't have a complete listing of the next movie, we don't know if Farrell will return. What I found odd is that Ezra Miller is listed for FB2 ... interesting. And there are going to be 5 movies in total.

Finally saw it. A little to much CGI for my taste.

There was a lot of CGI ... but I sure did chuckle at a lot of scenes.
It was, in my opinion, still a very entertaining movie.

and I don't believe anyone can deny that both the bowtruckle and the niffler were awesome!!

The bowtruckle was nice.

The biggest issue I think, is that I'm not much of a David Yates fan.

Anyone else starting to get anxious/nervous about the next FB installment? Isn't it supposed to be released in 2018?

Should we ask our Magic Board Wizard to put up a counter?

The Wizarding World of Harry Potter is back with a bang. 2016 saw the debut of the stage sequel Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, and – more importantly for our purposes here today – kicked off the first film in a new five-part prequel franchise.

Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them took us back to 1926 – a world preparing itself for war against the growing forces of the dark wizard Gellert Grindelwald. The next four films will span 19 years, building up to some major events in the Harry Potter backstory.

Fantastic Beasts 2 plot: Dumbledore vs Grindelwald

The Fantastic Beasts 2 script is complete and filming has begun and will take place in the UK and Paris. With the start of shoot announcement came the first official synopsis from Warner, teasing some tasty titbits.

inRead invented by Teads
In a statement, Warner Bros said: "JK Rowling wrote the screenplay for the film, which opens in 1927, a few months after Newt helped to unveil and capture the infamous Dark Wizard Gellert Grindelwald.

"However, as he promised he would, Grindelwald has made a dramatic escape and has been gathering more followers to his cause—elevating wizards above all non-magical beings. The only one who might be able to stop him is the wizard he once called his dearest friend, Albus Dumbledore.

"But Dumbledore will need help from the wizard who had thwarted Grindelwald once before, his former student Newt Scamander.

"The adventure reunites Newt with Tina, Queenie and Jacob, but his mission will also test their loyalties as they face new perils in an increasingly dangerous and divided wizarding world."

So we'll be getting insight into the relationship between Dumbledore and his former pupil, Newt. Also, prepare for some flashbacks, as younger versions of Newt, Dumbledore and Leta Lestrange have been cast. This could include the story of how Newt ended up expelled from Hogwarts - we know from the first Fantastic Beasts film that Leta was Newt's very close friend and the movie handbook suggests his expulsion came about as a result of taking the fall for something Leta did.

Fantastic Beasts 2, 3, 4 and 5 release dates: 2024 countdown

{picture on site}

Fantastic Beasts 2 (or the 'Untitled Fantastic Beasts Sequel', if you prefer) will be released in the UK and US on November 16, 2018. Fantastic Beasts 3 is currently scheduled for November 20, 2020.

The fourth and fifth films are yet to receive release dates, but November 2022 and November 2024 would continue the pattern.

As for that 'untitled' bit, we don't know exactly what the films will be called, but their star Eddie Redmayne said that he was told that they would follow a 'Fantastic Beasts and the...' formula similar to the original Harry Potter stories.

And here is a speculative article that seems to think it has spoilers in it, but they miss some huge possibilities in my never-to-be-humble opinion, so I'm not sure it exactly has spoilers in it. It says over and over that it doesn't know the actual plot, so, again, not sure on the spoilers angle.

not until November ... hmmm wishing it would be a 2018 summer flick *sigh*
again ... I am not sure how Newt fits into the plot of all the movies, but I guess time will tell.

yes please ... have our Magic Board Wizard put the counter on for this event!
