Especially since I refused to watch the last three...

Seriously... I guess I'll wait until they go into the public realm.
The way WB screwed with the stories coupled with the piss-poor casting and Directing, keeps me away.

ok - so let's clarify Paint. when you say you did not watch the last 3 movies does that mean you did not watch OOTP, HBP and DH ... or does it mean HBP, DH part 1, DH part 2 ???

The latter. I had to take my niece out for dinner and OOTP.

Am I to understand that this thread is for general discussion, and not specific cannon issues?

since the question/statement was specifically associated with COS, I felt it would be a better place for it.
I was of the understanding that is why we set up the specific topics for each movie; and that this would be generalised discussions only.

please let me know if you feel this is wrong.
it can be discussed - how does everyone else feel / think?

I thought here was for general, compare/contrast, whining and such.

eg: PH's comment about CoS in conjunction with the messing up that was done to PoA and pretty much every movie that started with a WB in the opening credits....

Its too bad you haven't caught the last few, PH. They are incredibly fertile ground for creating ulcers and foaming at the mouth. I've had to disconnect them from actual Potter to watch them on TV, somewhat like when reading an AU fanfic, or watching any of the Star Treks after the first one. If it stands on its own, rather than actually being Star Trek, then its a good show....

I still grit my teeth when I think of us getting stuck with Gambon as Dumbledore. Grrrrr! The only ways he qualified were - he's Irish so sounded like Richard Harris, and people in GB think he's a good actor. (I find him to be adequate so long as he's playing drunks and crooked/problematic businessmen... but NOT even close to our beloved and quirky Dumbley-dore.)
