In the second film:
I don't understand why they had Hermione repair Harry's glasses in Diagon Alley.
Even the first film made it a point to state that students weren't allowed to use magic outside of school.

I believe, and I could be very wrong about this, that WB wanted to show how brilliant Hermione was. I think it is why she got so many lines said by other characters etc. Also, to remove the parts of the book where everyone rushed up to Harry to make sure he was ok ... and of course, omit the part where Arthur actually fixes his glasses.

May be their argument to this would be that there are so many witches and wizards around, how would they prove it was a student doing the magic.

But I agree ... if the fundamental moralities of the book changes in the movies, it makes the movies less believable. and less desirable to watch.

I also seem to remember something about David Heyman's infatuation with young Miss. Watson.
Again I rant.

24 Nov. The Chicago Symphony Orchestra will be playing the music for Cos while the film plays on a big screen.

Tickets don't go on sale for a couple of months yet.

I'm on vacation that week, so it looks like I'll be headed for the Windy City this fall!
