I'm still hoping it misses you Moo! As paint said, keep us updated ok.

you are right about the getting old crap ... and even with good vision, driving in the dark is no picnic.
my favorite day of the year is in the beginning of March at the time when it gets light enough to drive to work in the morning.

ok - just for today - it is absolutely fabulous
right this minute, it is 5°C (41°F)
*happy dance*

I am going to enjoy this day, because for the next three days we are expected much lower temps and snow flurries (ugh) and possible freezing rain (double ugh)

We got lucky...stayed south enough so we got a few flurries that amounted to about 1/4" and a hell of a lot of wind but no power outages. Thank goodness we caught a break for a change. But the mess tomorrow...could get up to 1/2" of ice! Damn!

It supposed to be absolutely Spring-like the next couple of days, here.

we will get the 'spring' later in the week (hopefully)
the snow hasn't started yet, but it is on its way and the temps have already dropped significantly (ugh)

enjoy the wonderful weather days Paint!

SPECIAL WEATHER STATEMENT
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE QUAD CITIES IA IL
519 AM CDT MON MAR 31 2014

...WINDY CONDITIONS BY THIS AFTERNOON WITH AN INCREASED RISK FOR
GRASS FIRES...

SOUTH WINDS WILL INCREASE TO 20 TO 30 MPH WITH GUSTS UP TO 40 MPH
AT TIMES BY LATE THIS MORNING AND CONTINUE THIS AFTERNOON. THIS
WILL HAVE AN IMPACT ON HIGH PROFILE VEHICLES AND MOST NOTABLY
THOSE ON EAST-WEST ROADS. THE STRONG GUSTY WINDS...SEASONABLY WARM
TEMPERATURES AND LOW HUMIDITY WILL ALSO LEAD TO A VERY HIGH RISK
FOR GRASS AND BRUSH FIRES LATE THIS MORNING AND THROUGH THIS AFTERNOON.
RELATIVE HUMIDITY VALUES AS LOW AS 45 TO 50 PERCENT WILL ALLOW DRY
VEGETATION TO EASILY IGNITE. THE STRONG AND GUSTY WINDS WOULD CAUSE
ANY FIRES TO RAPIDLY SPREAD. OUTDOOR BURNING SHOULD BE AVOIDED.

Grass fires?
Maybe the Colorado low will drop enough snow to prevent it.

You know farmers. Once the snow has melted, they start cleaning things up.
The fact that the winds are blowing at 40 mph, doesn't seem to deter them from wanting to start fires to burn the trash.
Go figure.
And they always look SO surprised when these fires burn their barns down.
