Sun broke through just in time to blind me on the way home.
More rain on the way.

Crappy yesterday...snow, sleet, freezing rain, rain...blah. Roads a bit slick this morning, made driving to work fun. At least they were better when it was time to go home. Raining now. Yippee. More slick roads in the morning. Oh joy.

Rain tonight and all day tomorrow.

Time to take her keys away.

I think the dear old lady has got to start picking a better time of year to travel; or start packing more survival supplies like food and flares. This time of year, anything can happen in the mountains.

She is lucky! I think the opposite Paint - she is a woman who needs her independence. She didn't drive like a lunatic, she just took a wrong turn.

We've had a few similar incidences at work over the years. 'Lil old lady drives past all the signs into the yard, gets confused and turns onto the tracks and gets stuck.


She can be perfectly independent on foot.

There's a big difference between rural people and town people. Rural people don't do well if they're stuck in town (which is where you'd have to be if "on foot"). Its similar to the stats of how long the majority of people live if they've been put into a nursing home... it kills the spirit and the body follows.
Except for not turning back after five or six miles, she did lots of things right. She stayed with the vehicle and kept herself alive. Had it been a townie they probably would have found him/her after the Spring thaw because the person decided to walk for help even though they'd just driven that way and knew there wasn't anything for most of that distance.

Nicer-weather-time is a better time to go visiting, though.
