We are going through another heat wave (the last predicted for this year) ... fire bans-fire bans-fire bans!

There are so many fires in Montana that the smoke blowing this way is like they're just over the hill. The sunsets are spectacular, but I have gotten to the point of coughing and choking on the bad air.... It would take me half a day driving to get to Montana from here....

Fire Bans are a good thing.

yes - fire bans are very necessary!
we've had a fires around here but they were contained within a day. (so happy about that.
a cows hoof scraping against a rock will start a fire around these parts.

we are fortunate thus far that the air is still ok here
stay inside as much as you can Figgy!

well, the winds must have turned Figgy.
The air was thickly filled with smoke here yesterday - tough breathing for nearly everybody most of the day. It was like driving in fog. Such a pity I couldn't get time off work to take some photos ... *pout*

Yes, the smoke here is considerably lessened. I was out and about yesterday and not choking. Boy was that nice. It sort of feels like I have a sinus infection from it, though.

I hear you! Lots of people with headaches and stuffiness yesterday and today.
The winds came up today so I am thinking it will be moving the air/smoke more easterly now

holy moly ... did our temps ever drop.
a week ago we were still in a heat wave and now we barely get above freezing during the evenings with highs no greater than mid 50's. No time for our bodies to adjust to the changes ... chilly!
