Our temps dropped to the 20s at night and low 40s during the day. Just a trace of snow in my area. Then it warmed up to the mid 50s. No snow coming but rain Monday night thru early Tuesday morning, then rain Thursday (northern Maine might get an inch of snow). Yup. Getting to be that time of year. Oh joy.

Well, looks like snow will finally find Maine. Supposed to start this afternoon and last through most of the day tomorrow. Last approximate snow total for my neck of the woods...6 to 8 inches. Good thing I brought my work laptop home. I'm definitely not driving in that crap tomorrow!

If anyone can record the Today Show that's on every morning on NBC - Friday morning they are doing a feature titled "Merriest Main Streets". Our town gets to be one of them! (The Town has put out a call for any/everyone to turn out at 4:30am for a couple hours for it.) I'll wave to you if we're allowed to.

Yea Figgy! That's wonderful! I was in the office at the time so I missed it. :-(

Got about 7" of snow last week. Now looking at temps either side of 50, 3+ inches of rain, and 50+ mph winds! Right now, glad I have a generator.

Been so freaking cold here, icing has become a huge issue this past week. There were 20+ accidents on the interstate yesterday. Freezing mist/fog caused a boat load of black ice on the interstate from Bangor to Waterville. Cars off the road, an 18-wheeler jack knifed. Thankfully, no serious injuries, and only one person taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. A few days before, in the southern part of the state, in Westbrook, flash freezing caused 12 accidents, no serious injuries. We don't usually get this in December. ugh!

Are they allowing you to work from home when its icy?

Please be careful when you're out with the crazy people.

The weather here only gets really cold whenever I have to go out in it. The rest of the time its being nice/seasonal. I've avoided a lot of driving/going (so far) when its crummy... but saying it out loud pretty much guarantees it'll get really icky if I go to Denver for groceries or something.

Now that I have my power back...

Wonderful rain and wind storm Monday. Power outages all over that state; 71 mph winds will do that. Don't remember how much rain we got but it was a LOT. What a freaking mess. Lost my power late Monday afternoon. Next day, cleared small broken branches in my driveway and in my yard. No damage to my house and car, thank goodness. At the front of the Island, a tree came down on top of 2 lines. Pretty sure one was a power line and I'm guessing the other was for internet and cable services. That finally got cleared sometime Thursday. Power finally came back on Friday at 12:15. Been quiet and COLD since! brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!!!

That is awesome!! I don't have regular tv, but I am going to search for it online to see if I can find it to watch.

A few years ago we had similar weather - all of January was "ice - ice - ice". It is deadly when that happens. So glad to hear there were no deaths.

Wow Moo ... that is quite the storm! Very happy that you now have power and are okay!

Thank God I have the generator. Supposed to get maybe 1 - 3 inches of snow today; so far, nothing. Too dry still. Wednesday will be the winner...another storm heading my way. Snow to rain and 60+ mph winds. Here we go again. oy!

My area is known for it's "windiness" - so rare is there a day that it isn't moving.
not my idea of fun, that is for sure!

We have had the most wonderful winter thus far. Sure wish it was like this every year!
this week, however, our temps plummet into true Saskatchewan fashion; deepfreeze weather!
on a positive note, there are no mosquitos ... hahahaha

LOL! I hear ya on the mosquitos! For Maine, you can also include no black flies! lol

Lost power Wednesday again but for only about 7 hours. Storm yesterday - power stayed on. These storms are coming every 3 days! ugh! Snows transitions to rain and makes a mushy mess. The other problem with these storms is it's damaging the Maine coast, which has been devastated. So much wind with astronomical high tides...flooding is a major headache. Our Governor declared a state of emergency for our coastal counties so hopefully we can get financial help from the government.

Another one coming Tuesday night into Wednesday but it's supposed to stay all snow; not sure how much we're supposed to get. Then the freezer finds us. Single digits at night, 20s maybe during the day if we're lucky. And after Tuesday/Wednesday storm..you guessed it...another one Saturday. ARRRRGGGGG!!!!
