If we did, I slept through it.
More thunder showers predicted today too

Severe Thunderstorm Watch
for southern Saskatchewan
updated by Environment Canada
at 2:19 p.M. CST Thursday 24 July 2014.

---------------------------------------------------------------------
==Discussion==

A trough of low pressure moving eastward across Saskatchewan is
triggering scattered thunderstorms this afternoon. By late afternoon
the trough is expected to lie along a line from The Battlefords to
Moose jaw southward to the international border then continue to
push eastward during the evening. Some of these thunderstorms will
be severe capable of producing very strong wind gusts, destructive
hail and torrential rain.

Yup - had a nasty one early later this afternoon. (not as bad as those south of us ... wow did they get some nasty storm cells)

Looks like I will have to buy another wireless router ... the storm seems to have extinguished the life of my existing one.

Being the overly cautious type when storms are predicted, I usually unplug almost everything even though there are surge protectors on all the equipment.

Hope there wasn't any other damage.

If it will help, I have a routerless wire I could send you.

lol - thanks Paint.
surge protectors only protect up to a certain voltage; if the surge or spike is higher than the protector is rated for then it's going to damage your equipment anyway. Unplugging is always a good idea. I seldom unplug my router and unfortunately, I have no surge protector on it. We get a lot of surges and spikes here, especially during the night. I always unplug my computer after I shut it off.

On a happier note, I think the router has some sort of safety mechanism inside it. This is the second time it has "fried" (or I thought it was fried) and it came back to life many hours later. This morning it is working ... Yay!

I don't know if there was a tornado during yesterdays storm, but photos of the torrential downpour and some hail have been surfacing.

And after the rain storms, naturally, comes the mock-100 winds.

Glad to hear that everything is up and running.

Maybe if you treated the hamsters a bit better, they would keep the generator running smoother.

And I think we know who to blame for the wind...

Rather hazy today. Seems the smoke from the fires in the NW Territories has made it this far.

Our weather was weird yesterday. It as almost tolerable throughout the rodeo, and then at 5pm when I started photographing the slack, the temps shot up. And it heated up for a couple hours. Confused - isn't it suppose to cool down around that time ... just weird. and hot.

today is suppose to be hot and humid ... oh joy ... can hardly wait!
