Winter Storm Watch
Statement as of 2:16 PM CST on December 23, 2014

...Winter Storm Watch in effect from Wednesday morning through Wednesday evening...

The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Watch...which is in effect from Wednesday morning through Wednesday evening.

* Timing...rain transitions to wet snow in the mid morning hours. A narrow band of heavy wet snow will form somewhere over the watch area around noon through the early afternoon. Light to moderate snow will then continue into the early evening.
* Snow rates... 1 to 2 inches per hour with over 2 inches per hour expected within the heavy snow band.
* Snow accumulations...3 to 7 inches...with locally higher amounts possible under the narrow band.
* Winds...west winds 15 to 20 mph with gusts around 30 mph.
* Main impact...travel will be difficult with travel nearly impossible within the narrow band of heavy wet snow. Visibilities will vary from around one mile outside of the band to less than one quarter of a mile within the snow band.
* Other impacts...the heavy wet nature of the snow will make it difficult to shovel.
Precautionary/preparedness actions...
A Winter Storm Watch means there is a potential for significant snow...sleet...or ice accumulations that may impact travel. Continue to monitor the latest forecasts.

I hate to say it, but I think I sent this your way.
We got a nasty storm Sunday night ... the town is still plowing the streets
(was a fun drive Monday morning)

Latest update:

Looks like the storm will track east and we will only be getting mostly rain. With little or no accumulation.
So much for a white Christmas. :crying-yellow: :angry-banghead: :text-merryxmas:

Definitely not my neck of the woods. Raining so hard looks like a monsoon. Still have some snow on the ground but temps are supposed to be low 50's so don't think we'll have any snow left. Did get a little sun for a while the other day but back to clouds, clouds, and more clouds. Now rain, rain, and more rain. Depressing.

Just a bit of drizzle yesterday. Very cloudy. Had to keep looking at my watch, as everyone needed to drive with their headlights on during early afternoon.
So warm that I didn't even need a jacket. It definitely doesn't look like we'll be getting the winter we had last year.
