Wow. You are truly blessed!
Why are you hoarding all the snow to yourself?

well ... and to top it off, it has been snowing since about 9am this morning and there doesn't seem to be any signs of it letting up.

you know, the big (huge) light fluffy snow that is portrayed as the "perfect" Christmas snow.
Yup ... I am so blessed.

And a white Christmas for the foothills of Figgydom. :P

...Winter Storm Warning remains in effect until noon MST Friday...

* timing...snow will continue increasing over the northern foothills this afternoon and spread south over the remaining foothill areas by late afternoon. Snow will be heavy at times late this afternoon and tonight. Snow will begin tapering off Friday morning.

* Snow accumulations...8 to 14 inches by Friday morning... with 6 to 10 inches in the northern foothills of Larimer County.

* Wind/visibility...north winds of 10 to 20 mph may produce some blowing snow and poor visibilities.

* Impacts...people planning travel in the Front Range foothills should prepare for hazardous driving conditions late this afternoon through Friday morning.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Winter Storm Warning for heavy snow means hazardous winter conditions are expected. Significant amounts of snow are forecast which will make travel dangerous. If you must travel...keep an extra flashlight... a blanket...food...and water in your vehicle in case of an emergency.

Rained, rained, rained, rained. Barely any snow left and looks like the grass is trying to grow. A wee bit of sunshine late this afternoon, about an hour or so before sunset. You know, at this point, I think I'll be ecstatic the next time we get a major snow storm (if we get one). Boy, doesn't that sound strange...snow...in Maine...yah...

MY preparedness involves the keys hanging in thier spot and some nice P&G Tips, the heavenly carmel corn with whole cashews and almonds in it (that my good neighbor's candy store makes), dog and cats to pet, lots of snoozing and recouperating from Christmas Eve's excited-kiddos and enjoyable family time complete with a dinner I didn't have anything to do with. [The four-and-a-half year old got ice skates (from Gramma) which she proceeded to wear for the rest of the night, calling them "carpet skates).]

But, yeah. It started snowing sometime in the afternoon and there's ankle-deep accumulation so far. I'm glad I don't need to go anywhere.

Forecast to reach 48°F (9°C) today. Sure doesn't feel like winter.

Give it a few hours, Paint. There's an arctic front coming. Our "high" on Tuesday is supposed to be 6 F / -14 C, and starting today not be above freezing as far out as any of the forecasts show.
