Harry Potter Fans With No Life

People Are Now Apparently Burning Harry Potter Books, and J K Rowling's Response Is Magnificent

If there's one thing Harry Potter author J K Rowling is good at, it's writing fantasy wizard novels. But if there's another thing she's good at, it's owning flops on Twitter.


On Tuesday, a Twitter user told Rowling that they would "burn all of her books and movies," to which Rowling delivered a characteristically response.

Would you like some thick orange burn-healing paste for that, Twitter user? I mean, OUCH. The following day, someone who claimed to be a fan for 17 years also wrote that they had burned all of her books. Rowling took care of that also:

These angry tweets are, presumably, responses to Rowling's political beliefs (which she puts out there on social because you've got to find "safe spaces" rant in these trying times, OK?) but there's really no reason to burn books. Also you'd think by now people would know not to mess with Rowling on Twitter, given that she's a renowned expert at taking down alt-right trolls and religious fanatics.

A "fun" fact to finish with: this isn't the first time that the Harry Potter series has been burned at the stake. Back in 2001,the Christ Community Church in Alamogordo, New Mexico organized a book burning because their pastor claimed that the books were Satanic and that "Harry Potter is the devil."
