Author J.K. Rowling has announced two new Harry Potter books, sparking excitement among fans of the globally popular wizarding franchise. The announcement has renewed interest in the magical world of Hogwarts, its beloved characters, and the stories that have captivated readers for decades.

Two new books in Bloomsbury Publishing's Pocket Potters series will be released by J.K. Rowling on February 23, 2027.

• Not Mainline Novels: These are compact, 32-page full-color character guides rather than full-length new Harry Potter novels or sequels.
• Series Context: They are the latest additions to the Pocket Potters – Little Guides to the Harry Potter Stories collection, which introduces individual characters and key moments from the original books.

• Professor McGonagall: An illustrated guide exploring Professor Minerva McGonagall's character, her role at Hogwarts, her transfiguration mastery, and why she gave Harry his first broomstick (the Nimbus 2000).
