If I remember correctly, US has superior TV compared to Canada.
It is, I believe, the growing/dying pains of regular TV; digital rights management, royalties, etc, etc, etc

well - movies anyways.
I remember the starter package for movies was free in the US when we had (I think) Dish. That free starter package is what Canadians get charged between $20-$50 per month for.

personally, I really don't care much for TV. We only have it because hubby watches it.
I seldom if ever watch it; and there are only two shows that I even like.
I do like the occasional movie though.

I enjoy a few movies, and some of the older programs.

They're doing it again ~ without 4, and skipping the first two on the second day....

The first two are the only ones I really want to watch...

I hate to admit this, but I now tend to fall asleep watching the SS or COS DVD's.
they are my most favorite movies of the series, but since I have watched it so many times, I subconscious know I won't miss anything and tend to nod off.

when it is on TV, I sometimes tend to stay awake ... just so that I can figure out what parts they chewed up and spit out.

Point well taken. However, the fact that they spend more time running commercials, than the length of the actual film, tends to just annoy the snit out of me.
