Anyone who is familiar with Quidditch would never volunteer or allow themselves to be drafted. Harry, not completely understanding the consiquences, naievely joined as soon as he saw an opening.

Shooting Star is a derogatory slang term for a player who grabs the lime-light all the time - a show off, like MacLaggen.
