I've never met the brides parents. But I bet it will be a bit difficult for her father as well.
She was 64.

Without a doubt. If the wife/mother suffered for a very long time, the family may need this as a step forward to the positive. It is going to be a difficult time, none the less.

we had fog yesterday; a bit soupy driving to work; took my camera with me but did not get any photos (forgot to change the battery lol)
the rain has stopped ... sun is shining, but it is going to be cooler today.

Lots a places without power.

I wonder if this is coming from The Howler area?

... Flash Flood Watch in effect from this evening through Saturday
morning...

The National Weather Service in Quad Cities has issued a

* Flash Flood Watch for portions of Illinois and east central
Iowa...

* From this evening through Saturday morning.

* More heavy rain is forecast over the watch area through tonight.
1 to 3 inch amounts are possible in a short time... with totals
of 3 to 5 inches not out of the question. Much of the watch area
already received one or more rounds of heavy rain Thursday and
Thursday night. Flash flooding is likely... especially this
evening and into the overnight hours.

Rather heavy thunderstorms overnight.
I didn't lose power, though many did.

Been rather warm - temps around 86 - but cooler at night, thank goodness. Hope the weather clears for the wedding, Paint. Lost my dad three months before my brother got married. They wanted to change the wedding date but my mother talked them into keeping their plans...we needed a happy moment and the wedding helped. btw...congrats!

If the power does go out during the wedding, will you have enough flashlights to supply to everyone Paint?
