When that happens, I'll be watching for the fireworks.

oh dear

The Cursed Child is a sequel to Deathly Hallows following Harry and his son Albus Severus, according to The Daily Mail’s theater reporter Baz Bamigboye. “The Cursed Child” refers to Albus Severus, who “must struggle with the weight of a family legacy he never wanted.” His “‘past and present fuse ominously’ when Harry and his younger son learn the uncomfortable truth that ‘sometimes, darkness comes from unexpected places.’”

Some fans have been clamoring for an eighth Harry Potter book, and this almost feels like a way to take advantage of those wishes.

In better news, The Daily Mail reports tickets will be available for as little as £15 per show. Remember, The Cursed Child has been split into two separate shows, so you’ll have to pay £30 to see the complete story.

you know ... I love the original 7-books
why must JKR purposely whittle away at destroying the legacy.
she said it was over ... seven books is all that were intended (according to her, and she was adamant about it).

If she can't stop writing about this magical universe she created, then write another volume already :angry-tappingfoot:

There are a couple dozen Oz books. I wouldn't mind that of Harry's world. I love reading a good fan fic, and frequently - in my humble estimation - come up with a fair one of my own.

But, having been burned by WB, and seen some the abysmal stuff she's put out since Harry, I am skeptical that this isn't just a marketing ploy. Nobody makes a two-part play. That's sort of trying to guarantee a paying audience (as opposed to doing it so well that people want to see/pay more). A good writer can bring the story to a place where the first one is a whole story, and the second one is a stand alone, too; or edit it until its a single story of reasonable length.

However, Hope springs eternal. I want this to be good and magical, and I want to be enthralled.
