Have you been missing Fred and George? You might see a glimpse of the mischievous twins as James and Oliver Phelps attend Fan Expo Regina this April! The pair are expected to attend both days of Fan Expo, April 23-24. For more information on their appearance, check out the website. The fan favorites will also be in attendance next month at Emerald City Comic Con in Seattle, Washington from April 7-10. Their participation was just announced and the convention is already sold out.

Also set to attend a fan convention is Tom Felton (Draco Malfoy) and his on-screen father, Jason Isaacs (Lucius Malfoy). No strangers to the convention circuit, Felton and Isaacs are on schedule for the Calgary Comic and Entertainment Expo from April 28 to May 1. Sir Michael Gambon (Albus Dumbledore) had been in the running to attend as well, but had to cancel due to work circumstances. To learn more about the convention, head over to the Expo website.

Fan Expo Regina has announced that James and Oliver Phelps, the real-life twins who portrayed Fred and George Weasley in the Harry Potter film series, are coming to this year’s convention.

The Phelps twins will join Brent Spiner (Data from Star Trek: The Next Generation) and Sean Astin (Samwise Gamgee in Lord of the Rings) as this year’s guests, but more guest announcements are still expected to come.

The show runs from April 23-24 at the Canada Centre East building at Evraz Place. A single-day pass will cost $25 for Saturday, or $20 for Sunday. A deluxe two-day pass costs $35. There’s also a premium pass for $65, which comes with some exclusive collectibles.

Last year’s Fan Expo Regina was headlined by Jonathan Frakes, who portrayed William Riker on Star Trek: The Next Generation. The event was attended by 15,370 fans.

Thanks Figgy!

While I know comic con ins getting more popular, I did not know that even Calgary has begun to host it. crazy!

Regina ... wow! It is such a pity I will not be able to make it! Mind you, this is about meeting the actors, not so much about Hogwarts. Pity!

I'll be on vacation during that time... But I don't have a Passport.

Besides, it's just a little too close to 'You-Know-Who.' :teasing-neener: :laughing-rolling:

This has little to do with the Convention, but...
How do Canadians deal with the distances? Basically each Province is 1/8 or more of the top half of the continent - that's a lot of area! How does everyone deal with getting official things done (drivers licenses, or pay taxes, other legalities,. etc.) if you live a bazillion miles from the capital city? What kind of historical craziness has gone down where someone needed to file a mining claim or bought a piece of property, and someone else tried to block it? How has all that sort of thing been dealt with historically?

personal taxes are either mailed on sent electronically; local taxes are paid at town/city hall; most every community has a gov't office for driver's licencing; etc, etc. I couldn't say about mining claims, have no idea. Our political system is way different than yours. We don't vote in public officials like sheriffs, etc. Our police, RCMP, health care workers/hospitals, school employees (etc) are all government employees. We don't get the chance to vote on every bill or change (which rather upsets me) ... only our voted gov't official gets to vote on those things (we only get the honor *cough* of voting for our gov't official. Which is why most Canadians are rather laxidaisy about politics ... we don't get a lot of choices.

Nobody likes to hear this, but I am not a political person ... not by any stretch. Some are, but not me. Guess I just don't like being lied to; and I sure don't like getting fed BS. (Yes, I exercise my right to vote ... we fought too hard for this right and I am not about to stop respecting it)
