Hey, Howler. What's going on with the Alberta fire(s)? Our "news" has stopped reporting anything.

as has ours Figgy - I guess it is the same old standby - no news is good news. The fire is out as far as I know.
They are slowly moving people back to Fort McMurray - the hospital is up and running and essential businesses were to be opened before residents allowed back. The residents are allowed back in small groups. It will take a very long time to clean up the city.

Was it a Warning or a Watch? There's a huge difference.

Yes, tornadoes are much less common in the great white north, but they certainly occur. :happy-bouncygreen:

We get tornados here in Maine from time to time tho nothing like the Midwest gets. hard to enjoy the good weather this past week except we were all stuck in an office building all day. blah. No one wanted to come back into the building once venturing outside. The next few days will include humidity. Wonderful. Hate the 3H's - hot, hazy, humid. Agree with Paint...don't like the humidity. yuck. Not fun to be out in at all. ew.

Our province gets an average of 18 tornadoes per year (highest of all provinces). Canada's total average is 62 per year.
It was a warning. I did a double take on the word when I read it, because I didn't want to believe it. The warning lasted approx. 1-2 hrs.

I'm not saying it is windy here right now, but the water in the bird baths have white caps.

Yep, warnings will only last a couple of hours at most. Since that's the usual life span of a storm cell.

Were there any reports of damage? Have you issued Gale Warnings to the neighborhood birds?
