hey Moo - good to see you back on the site again!

Special Weather Statement

Issued at 11:38 Sunday 10 July 2016
An extended period of rain is expected.

A slow moving low pressure system over southern Saskatchewan is expected to intensify and give an area of significant rain to much of the southern portion of the province by Tuesday. Strong, potentially severe thunderstorms ahead of the system will develop tonight and are expected to give generally 20 to 30 mm of rain with much higher amounts in thunderstorms. As the low pressure system intensifies overnight, heavy rains will continue and could give close to another 40 to 50 mm of rain by Tuesday morning. Although there is some uncertainty in the exact area and intensity of the heaviest rains, 48 hour total rainfall amounts, in some areas, could exceed 100 mm with this event.

oh goody - because it has been so dry lately! (yes, sarcasm)

ok - just completely weird
one storm missed us a mile to the east and the other one about 4 miles to the west.
we didn't get a drop.

I really do hope we get some rain today. I don't want to have to water my plants.

lol - yes I want some rain ... just not torrents of it.
I am soooo very glad the storm west of us missed us last night.
This is what showed up approx 10 miles (SW) of town (do not know if it touched down or not).
yesterday, that area got over 1-½" of rain in a very short time ... us in town didn't get a drop.

Very warm and muggy here abouts. Rain later tomorrow, though not the severe type like up north.

Seem you really are in Howlerville... :P

town has got over 2" rain, and it is still raining. I don't see anything in my yard blown away so all is good. My sunflowers appear to have grown 12" plus in the last week - incredible!
I am so thankful we did not get the storm that ended up in the south east of this province - they got 5" in less than 3 hours; plus a likely tornado. Needless to say, they are flooded.

tomorrow it may clear up for a bit, but according to our prediction, we won't see the sun until next Tuesday.

I certainly hope you get this out of your system soon.

We need the weather to be nice in a couple of weeks. :handgestures-thumbupright:

I sure hope so too Paint ... so far, it really has been a wet year. Last year we were in a drought until this time - then got 7" rain in one week. Maybe after Tuesday next week, the sun will shine for a while. We sure could use some. And our reputation for it "nearly" never raining on rodeo weekend will be put to the test this year, that is for sure!

sigh ... my sunflowers got downed by the heavy rains today. I will have to get some rope and hold them to the fence and see if I can save them. But not today. Long day; too tired.
