you too Figgy ... I think ours is suppose to ease up a bit tonight; at least the winds are dying down. I am hoping the roads are better tomorrow than they have been the last couple days.

I think I've already seen enough vehicles & semis in the ditch - a whole season of it just makes me cringe.

Only got up to 73° this afternoon. Drizzle most of the day, with a few thunder showers early in the evening.
Cooler the next few days, though no where close to freezing.
We haven't even been close to a frost yet this season.

It is supposed to warm up a bit after the weekend. I have not had the heart to look at my asters yet to see if they survived. (holding off that torture until the weekend)

sure hope this system moves your way Paint ... it will surely drop the temps significantly

So I'm guessing that your growing season has ended for this year?

LOL - I'm thinking, yes. But asters are a whole different ball game. They generally survive for quite a while in the cold. One year I even got photos of them still blooming in November. will find out tomorrow - too scared to look at them yet.

Don't you have a long weekend coning up, to gather the courage?

yes. Unable to see them from the back door, so I will try to trek through the snow today. I have faith though, they are pretty tough. Mind you, only one or two of my sunflowers managed to stay upright. The snow was so wet & heavy that a lot of people lost trees. Guess I better check my two new trees today too.

supposed to warm up a bit today, and even more tomorrow. yay.

I double that *grumble* Figgy!

I went out to look at my flowers. Such a sad day; nearly all of them are flattened to the ground from the heavy snow. The stems don't look snapped (well, of the few I can actually see). I am not sure if they will recover from this or not. I guess the next couple weeks will tell.
