the cloud finally started lifting some time this afternoon.
I wish I could have played hookie in the pm because it left some very pretty white frosty trees. Needless to say only those who don't have to work for a living had plenty of opportunity to drive around and get some fabulous photos. (it couldn't have happened on a Saturday, could have it ...)

We've had coatings of snow, rain, a little sun, LOTS of clouds. Thanksgiving was cloudy but not cold tho a bit chilly. Dusting of snow Friday morning when I got up, gone once it transitioned to a light rain. Temps definitely more seasonable, cold but not continuously freezing. Supposed to be nice tomorrow and Wednesday, rain Tuesday and Thursday, clearing Friday and supposed to be nice over the weekend. We'll see.

last week Thursday we woke to the weirdest thing I have ever seen.
It wasn't snxx, sleet, frost, or frozen rain ... but it completely blanketed our part of the province.

The only way I can describe it was 'frozen frost on steroids'. It was solid, and extremely crunchy when walking on it, but not very slippery. It was if every miniscule drop of water in the air completely frosted over (mega-frost-on-steroids - as if each spec of water now became 20x it's original size) and then dropped down to earth and froze.

Eerie! But the crunch was rather cool to hear. Almost like one was walking on corn flakes.

nope - was too busy getting ready for work that day.
take hoar frost (very large hoar frost) - envision it layered on 'everything' (gravel, rocks, sidewalks, decks, highways, etc) - then double, triple or quadruple the size of the hoar frost - then flash freeze it (making it very, very crunchy)

nope - no pictures. Pity. It was really, really weird stuff. Nobody else seemed to know what the heck it really was either.

Do you suspect it was the work of dark wizards?

hmmm ... maybe
(never thought of that)
there was no dark mark in the sky, so maybe Peeves was in the vicinity.
