Hogwarts supplies all necessary items for students - they do not have to buy anything.

They don't need any sort of medical personnel, they have Spells and Potions. Witches and Wizards are "self-healing".

Generally in gardens or under rocks. They are great for fishing - put one of them on your hook and you'll typically end up with a prize winning catch.
