our high for Tuesday is predicted as -20C (-30 with wind chill) ... that just about sums up our next few weeks of weather. According to the long term forecasts, there isn't a break from this cold snap in sight. oh joy.

Well, we wound up with about a foot of snow "flattened" by a lot of rain Thursday night (snow changed over to rain changed back to snow). Got another delayed opening Friday morning. Heavy crap to shovel digging out my car. Just have to be careful of all that ice under the snow. Then got about another 4 or 5 inches last night, didn't stop until late this morning. At least it was just snow and not as heavy as Friday morning. Looks like we'll be about mid 30s during the day, not too bad at night. A bit of a break hopefully.

seriously? I am not sure which is worse, the sub-human arctic/polar bear cold weather we are having or the extreme heat that you are having Tonks. Mind you, at least you don't have to shovel snow - it's even too hot for the mosquitos (hopefully)

So... about 9:30pm I took the dog outside so she could go potty and swept an inch or two of s*** off the porch and walkway. Then, maybe forty minutes later she wanted to go out again, and I swept about another inch of s*** off those same areas. At midnight it was about two inches; at 2:30am I swept more like three inches of s***...
To add to the enjoyment its stupidly cold - the bridge of my nose was painfully cold in a minute or less....
Wundermap says its -4F/-20C... 'Sposta be above freezing on Saturday and Sunday.

I don't know why, usually I'm fairly enthusiastic about this place and winter is just another facet of its wonder, but this year its a lot of no fun for some reason.
