Ice is nasty. Everything else you can kind of compensate for. With Ice there are pretty much only chains and staying home.

The TV weather guys were saying that we've had enough s*** this year to be sitting at 159% of normal. Some of our watersheds are as high as 176%, the lowest 136%. Yay!

A lot will head east and for the west coast (Continental Divide is about 15 miles west of me) in the Spring. But we've been dry for quite a while, so it is welcome moisture. Hopefully it will melt slowly and sink in some. If for some reason we wouldn't get more s*** it wouldn't take long before we'd be below normal. March and April are usually our snowiest months.

well, that is what happens at the divide; the water always goes away.
being down stream after a heavy winter and fast thaw can be dangerous.

it's kind of cool that that is where you live!!

I have no idea who the guy is, and when he gets home (the last couple minutes), its lame stuff with his girlfriend, but the Georgetown part is what it is like here.

I hear ya on that one, Howler. Fast snow melt can be a mess to say the least. Figgy - sounds like things are looking up water wise. Hopefully you'll get only what you need to keep things where they should be.

Well, no delayed opening Wednesday but didn't made it to work. Sore back after trying to clear all that mess out of the driveway. Felt the popping and soreness...said that's it, I'm done. Made it to work Thursday. Off and on snow and sleet but nothing major, thank goodness. Wind chills suck, tho. Better yesterday and today so far. Colder and seasonable, one minor (so far) snow storm Wednesday but that's it. Squirrels are a little more active. lol.

So ... Figgy ... If I ever make it down to visit, will you take me to that gorge with the steam train chugging across the trestle?

Hey Moo - I thought you didn't have to clear your driveway anymore ... isn't that supposed to be done for you?

We'll go in the car, but its close enough to walk to. You hear the whistle about once or twice an hour all day (when its running. It has shut down for the winter, but will start back up in three or so months, once the weather is nicer). The trestle is called The Devil's Gate.

Have you relocated, Figgy?

It's a place with a longer winter, I hope.
