Apparation is the Spell for mending damaged clothing. Its taught to young wizards and witches very early in their learning to deal with their magical abilities, both because its a fairly simple Spell and because it is quite useful to be able to fix rips, tears, burns, and other problems if they damage what they are wearing.

Spoiler alert!
The trick to getting into Diagon Alley is knowing which bricks to tap in what order. What is the comparable trick for getting into Hogsmeade?

They got a huge electric jolt, their arms went numb, and they had to send up red sparks for help without the use of one of their hands each.

Most Potions or Spells indicate their purpose by the root words in their names. Thus, "Veri" roughly translates to multiple, and "serum" to fluid. Therefor, Veritaserum is a Potion that looks completely different depending upon intention of brewer, and that can also be used for many different ends depending on intention of brewer. It is the "Universal Potion".
