Torrential downpours more than watered my lawn in my neck of the woods last night. The southern part of the state had 3 possible tornado touchdowns yesterday afternoon. One looked to be a waterspout over one of the lakes! Quite a bit a damage in Bridgton...lots of downed trees and power lines. A mess to say the least. And with the state shutdown, first responders are overwhelmed; Maine DOT is closed so no help there.

But all the elected bozos live in a protected bubble and don't drive where everyone else goes... or use the wires that are downed... or have emergencies that don 't get immediately taken care of. Maybe next election there need to be nice big signs with the names and how they voted on each thing.

Rain was forecast for this last evening. Not a drop.

Did find out the DOT was called out to help later that night, thank goodness. Thought there were 3 confirmed tornadoes...turned out to be 4! Only EF0 and EF1 but enough to cause a lot of damage. Haven't heard much about flash flooding except one area. Mud everywhere.

Humidity has returned, with heat on the rise.

Did you happen to see which way your freezing temps went, Howler?

All the nice rain we got a couple months ago grew lots of groundcover plants, which are now dry tinder. We have quite a few fires around the state. Closest to me is thirty or forty miles away, but its still dumping lots of smoke into the air...

Sounds like you'll be staying inside for a while.
