Lots of flooding north of Chicago from the storms earlier in the week.

Almost all the rain has been tracking north of me.

we got some rain last night.
however, it was like watching spit on a griddle ... sizzled and dried as soon as it hit the ground. We really could use more.

another scorcher predicted for today.

Storms have been blowing through the area the last few days.

VERY warm with super-high humidity. The dew point here now is 77°F.

hot, hot, hot again here
a storm was to hit us tonight, but it appears to have swung to the north and left us with zero moisture ... *cries* ... the wind picked up and moved a bunch of dirt though.

you are mocking me, aren't you. :confusion-seeingstars:
rain to the north of us, rain to the south of us ... it almost sprinkled here one evening, but the heat and dry air evaporated it before it hit the ground.

* at 1212 PM CDT, emergency management and law enforcement reported
ongoing areal flooding of creeks and streams due to heavy rain
over the past two days. Rainfall reports of 2 to 4 inches were
common across the warned area, with some locations receiving
around 5 inches. The runoff from this excessive rainfall has led
to areal flooding and dangerous conditions due to fast moving
water near creeks and streams. The threat for additional heavy
rain is over, but flooding impacts will linger into this evening
and tonight.

Come and get it! And bring your waders.

Denver keeps hitting or coming close to record highs. It is just now getting to be the time of year that that is expected. Its cooler where I live, but still very summer-y.
