The National Weather Service in the Quad Cities has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for...
Whiteside County in northwestern Illinois...
Southern Jo Daviess County in northwestern Illinois...
Carroll County in northwestern Illinois...
Stephenson County in northwestern Illinois...

* Until 200 AM CDT Thursday

* At 755 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing
heavy rain across the warned area. Up to two inches of rain have
already fallen. Flash flooding is expected to begin shortly.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Freeport, Sterling, Rock Falls, Morrison, Mount Carroll, Fulton,
Savanna, Lena, Prophetstown, Stockton, Erie, Lanark, Garden Plain,
Milledgeville, Fairhaven, Albany, Hanover, Pearl City, Tampico and
Elizabeth.

Excessive rainfall over the warned area will cause mud slides near
steep terrain. The mud slide can consist of rock, mud, vegetation and
other loose materials.

Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are possible in the
warned area through 930 PM.

you know, you could send half of that rain my way ... maybe do some of that wand magic!
if unable, stay safe ... and keep those flashlights handy!

ps ... those little pests are something we have very little of this year (yet) since most of the sloughs and wetlands have dried out.

Beautiful weekend so far. Nice warm temps and nice low dew points to go with it! Supposed to be this way until about Wednesday and I can live with that. Enjoying this so far. ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!

well, the storm split and went around our little town once more yesterday evening. What the heck is up with that!?! all around us got some moisture but not a drop fell here

today is suppose to reach near 100°F ... lord have mercy on the plants & animals & elderly today

Happens here sometimes...we call it the "dome" overhead when rain misses us and dumps on everywhere else. Hope everyone can stay cool. Sometimes when it gets hot, hazy, and humid here, cooling centers are opened for those who need it. A lot of them also allow pets. Folks forget sometimes it's just as rough for pets to stay cool, too.

someone in this town must own a wand, and/or has created a magical dome over it then ... we really could use some rain. Harvest is already starting - I believe it could be a record breaking year for how early the crops are getting harvested.

OMG we got rain!!! Well, only about 1/4 inch, but still ... it was wet and it fell from the sky and it actually hit the ground. Yay!!!
