lol - the pain is real Paint

we had nasty storm yesterday. and now we have a thick blanket of the white stuff. roads ought to be fun to drive on ... fingers crossed that the local road crews were out (but not holding my breath, because they are notorious for not starting work until daylight hours - even then, iffy)

We have snow. I'll share with you.

Round one hit Tuesday which was supposed to be busiest travel day for the holiday., 170+ flights canceled AT DIA, more people stuck sleeping there than live where I do. We got around a foot up here in the hills, parts of Boulder got twice that.

-2F/-18C Tuesday night.

Round two is snowing again now, with high wind warnings until 6-ish Saturday, just to mess with people trying to get home from the holiday. Westbound I-70 has been closed all day due to rock slides, now CDOTs concerned about snow/wind closing eastbound.

We had 58mph wind here today and 94mph on the mountain to our north...

Strong wind is halfway normal here. It knocked the narrowguage off its tracks down by the lake back in the 1870s or 80s (those tracks are no longer there), and old-timers have told me about having to lie down on the ground until the wind died down when they were kids walking to school.

But it was still not fun today.

Aren't you in a valley, Figgy? I think that would help contribute to a wind tunnel effect.

Figgy, I wondered how you were doing in all that mess. Been on the local news a lot. Yikes, what a darned mess! Stay safe and warm, kiddo!

Round 1 came my way Thanksgiving. Got about 4" and good thing my driveway gets plowed. I only have to clean off my car (yes, my new baby has been christened). Round 2 is supposed to hit us tomorrow night and all day Tuesday. Supposed to get 4 - 8 inches. Not what you got but around here, enough to make a mess because folks forget how to drive in it. Hasn't quite sunk in that we're Mainers and usually only takes one snowfall to remind us. Have a feeling Tuesday is going to be a snow day. I'm supposed to go back to work after being on leave; looks like I'll have one more vacation day.

CRAP!!! You guys are getting all the good stuff. While I have to be content with fog, drizzle, and mild temps.
Oh well, at least the sun hasn't been out in about a week.
