sure saves me from watering the flowers.

Been rather foggy the last few mornings.
When it burns off, the sun heats thing up,
and then the storms roll in by mid afternoon.

Today was the first time in a long long time that I drove during an electrical storm ... Hope I don't have to do it again for a long time. One area even got a bunch of hail. Thought I was driving through snow for a minute. Yuck.

Weather outlook for the weekend changed. Sunny and temps mid to upper 80's and low dew points! Then there's next week...either side of 90 first part of the week along with the dreaded 3 H's - hot, hazy, humid. Then rain Wednesday and Thursday. Yup, I think summer has finally found Maine.

Are you paddling your boat around the basement yet?

not yet - you?
It's been a very wet year though! Almost feels like I'm back in BC during monsoon season.

the lightning show was not as severe as predicted - at least here, I think those east of us got the brunt of it.

The storms seem to pop up every afternoon in very scattered and localized areas.
It's hit and miss. Though the muggy heat is shared by all.

As much as I may be empathetic for those affected, I can honestly say that I am thankful we did not get the storm as predicted today. The rains got moved farther east by extremely high winds (I presume). there are several communities in states of emergency from all the torrential rains yesterday and today. I believe approx. 200 km east of here got over 5", and they did not get the most of the rainfall. There are a lot of highways washed out, etc, etc, etc. High winds are also causing havoc creating many power outages. Not a pretty picture.
