well, the hot weekend is over. It sure caused havoc in Calgary AB ... hail the size of tennis balls that ripped and damaged homes, windows, vehicles ... flooding ... and a tornado. Sure glad we didn't get that storm!!!! Most of it had petered out before it got here! We ended up getting a lightning show, very strong winds and a few sprinkles of rain.

temps unseasonally cool this week; prediction is for next week to be back to normal temps.

it is June 18 and the highs this week have been in the 50's. Dang!
the good news is that we got some rain (yay!) ... about 1.4"

Yeah, its been raining all day here, too. I think its the same system. Unusual for here. We have rain for an hour or so on a couple summer afternoons each week, but all day is odd. Its supposed to rain tomorrow, too - or still, as it hasn't stopped. We were having "too dry" conditions, so hopefully this will catch us up. Too bad it isn't hitting where it could put out some of the forest fires.

We've been in a heat wave...95 degrees since Thursday. Supposed to be a bit cooler today...88. Oh...no rain and dew points are starting to climb into the 60s. Might get rain Wednesday and Thursday and do we need it. Fingers crossed.

we haven't had an all day soaker rain in years. Sure hope we get one or two!!
the temps have warmed up a bit, but not exactly seasonal (still cooler); the lows are still in the 30's/low 40's

got to admit, yesterday was simply beautiful!!! Warmish with little to no wind; only a few clouds

Got through the heat wave; supposed to have off and on rain till Thursday. Hopefully we'll get enough rain to alleviate some of our drought conditions. Temps are going to be in the 70s until Thursday when it's hot, hazy, and humid and in the mid to upper 80s. blah! At least the weekend is supposed to be nice. Can live with that!

a two day rain left us with only 1/3" of water. It was nice though, all day drizzling; nothing coming down so hard that plants were damaged. As the farmers call it ... the million dollar rain! It is supposed to warm up this weekend.

Had a few thunderstorms and a few downpours but not enough. At least we won't have hot, hazy and humid until Thursday...either side of 90. Wonderful. Next weekend is supposed to be wet. We'll see.

Storms around us pretty much all weekend; sunny, rainy; sunny, rainy ... repeat.
Super cells passing over and/or passing by... we got a bit of rain, a bit of hail

about 80 km (50 miles) south-east of us tornadoes touched down.

it is truly amazing how 'air' works - this region had winds up to 122 km/hr and we had a tiny breeze
