It warned all that the punch had been spiked. Having a sparkling luminous cat sitting beside the huge bowl made it much more festive than a mere written card.

Crookshanks has the ability to become transparent whenever he wishes to, so could walk through problematic situations and cause diversions so that Sirius could escape unseen.


Why are students not supposed to bring their own brooms First Year?

ALL students - 1st to 7th yr - must only use ministry approved (and school supplied) brooms that come with extra safety features such as seat belts and professor/student access operating panels.

Dumbledore was painting the ceiling in the Great Hall, which, because of all the magic involved, demanded he hold his hand/wand over his head pointing at various areas and objects, for so long all the blood drained out and it looked black for several hours afterwards.

There are several Spells, any vanishing one will work best, but a paralyzing one will also do though then you have to gather them into a basket.
