lol! Almost did! lol! We got some rain, too. Like you, now a lot and taking whatever we can get. We've been so abnormally dry and it's not going to get better anytime soon.

This past week was the opposite of the previous week. Temps in the upper 70s and remarkably cool at night. Woke up a couple of mornings a bit cold. This morning the temp in my bedroom was 68 and I didn't have the ceiling fan on. It got down to 47! Chilly, chilly, chilly. I did have my bedroom window open, obviously a little too much. Weather is supposed to be about the same this week as last week, a little rain here and there. Have a feeling August is going to be the hot, humid, hazy month from Hell.

Here, too. Didn't have to wait for August. Hot, hazy, humid most of last week! Heat wave found Maine - temps in the 90s at least 3 days. ugh!!!! Nothing like melting after taking a shower in the morning. yuck! Did finally get rid of the humidity Friday afternoon. Still hot with temps in upper 80s but doable. At least the past few nights have been cooler with a nice little breeze. Made sleeping easier.

More of the same this week. Might get a thunderstorm or two, which would be a good thing. We so need the rain. And looks like we might get only in the upper 70s Saturday. That would work for me!

Mother Nature threw us one hell of a curve ball. Got 1" of rain in one massive downpour, nothing since then. Been absolutely hot, hazy, humid, temps either side of 90 during the day, sweltering at night! UGH!!!! Feel like I've been melting all week long. Drank so much water this past week I'm making camels jealous. Today is supposed to be the worse...temps in the mid 90s and we might get a little rain this afternoon. Hoping we see some relief this week.

Wouldn't be so bad if the dew points weren't over 70, which is oppressive and soupy. blah.........

hot hot hot
and for the next week ... hot hot hot
no rain clouds in sight

mind you, we did have some excitement last week. A tornado cloud hovered over our little town. A bit of hail, but no twister (thank goodness)

Denver keeps breaking high temp records. A few years back I read an article that said Colorado would become like New Mexico was at that time...

I'm noticing lots fewer bugs around. I'm not sure if its a timing thing (their regular cycle has them hatching when there's not the right kind of food available), or it its temperatures, or who knows what. Its disconcerting. I'm rather fond of food, and need them to pollinate much of it... or their buddies to help recycle deceased things... (Some of that nostalgia may be because the altitude and dryness here is not conducive for mosquitos. 'Haven't even seen one in ages.)

We still have the bugs here, too, despite the heat and humidity. I have noticed not as many mosquitos, wasps, and dragonflies, but have seen quite a few butterflies, which is a bit unusual.

Oh, last week, that summer nor'easter that came through here - dumped 2.61 inches of rain in one day! We weren't supposed to get that much rain but we so desperately needed it. Problem is the southern part of Maine needs rain badly, as they're heading toward severe drought conditions, and they didn't get much, if any. Back to our usual cycle...hot, humid, some rain if we're lucky. At least we're only going to be in the mid to upper 80s, not anywhere in the 90s.

How often do your drought/moisture reports come out? Here the TV news (usually in or right before the weather) shows us maps what area has which colors indicating dryness for that week. I didn't used to pay much attention, but now I follow it all the time.
