our temps over the last 4-5 days have been nasty nasty cold
highs between -24c & -33c (-11F & -27F)
lows between -30c & -40c (-22F & -40F)
with windshield temps between -52c to - 57c (-61F to -71F)

oh joy (not!)
I look at the thermometer and refuse to open any door or look outside. Actually, my front door is frozen shut so got to walk around from the back.

Temps are supposed to rise by Friday or Saturday (thank goodness!!)

And I thought we were having it bad.

Have I mentioned how much I like the weather in the other half of the year?

Not as cold here but definitely single digits at night, maybe 20 during the day if we're lucky, and lets not mention wind chills in the negative. ouch. We're supposed to have a heat wave sometime tomorrow or Tuesday (upper 20s to the 30s) but snow and rain coming with it the rest of the week. Luckily it's not supposed to be anything nasty, maybe an inch of snow, a little sleet/freezing rain as it transitions to just rain. Just nuisance stuff. Can live with it. I think.

Ours is yo-yo-ing. In that middle week we had the Arctic cold with wind blowing snow literally horizontally, and strong enough to push cars sideways by a half-foot or so. Then it got up to 40F/4.5C the next week. Now its being below freezing at night, sometimes by a lot, and some days are being in the 30sF/1.5+C.

I'm tired of it being winter already, and know we've got three more months of it yet... but I can't figure out how people live places where it doesn't snow. But then I also wonder how so many of us can live in our artificially warm houses where you can't grow food for half the year. Nature is so much bigger and stronger than we puny mortals, yet we think we have some level of control. * sigh *

We've had some snow but not much. Just enough to cover everything but not enough to shovel. Been cold at night; not bad during the day, until the wind shows up then it's cold as hell! Still, this winter so far has been one the mildest we've had in a long time. Still have a feeling we'll get at least one major storm so we'll see. It's still winter, and for Maine, that means until sometime in late April or mid May! lol

:angry-tappingfoot: Looks like March is going to come in like a LION. Wow ... the storm is headed our way and it is expected to hit us tonight & tomorrow. Alberta is getting hit for the second time in a week. I do not want "feet" of the white crap ... I want "inches" of rain.

I don't have to shovel rain!

Yup...March in like a lion...supposed to go out like a lamb. Yah.

We're getting Howler's rain...and rain and rain and more rain. Only snow left here is from the piles left at the end of plowed driveways. Rain today, rain tomorrow, clear Tuesday, rain Wednesday. Then Thursday and Friday for the moment is mix to rain BUT we might be getting all that snow hitting your necks of the woods. Waiting to see what'll happen. At least the temps have been decent but we did have a lot of wind to go with it...wind chill! ugh! Still have a feeling we'll get at least one good blizzard before it all disappears. We'll see.

That's been a pain, too. sheesh!!!

Yeah... Lather, Rinse, Repeat...

BUT! When its nice it feels so wonderful.
And the brown isn't as brown as it has been.

Are you going to get to see any of the eclipse?
Its too far east of here for us to even see a tiny bit.
