Good question! I don't really go to Pottermore, so inclusion would be a hindrance for me. But since it is an official source, it can be considered cannon.

I noticed he has the new wizarding schools, the new houses etc.
While they are a part of the magical world, they are not so much a part of the HP world.

worth a discussion.
I don't think it matters really, because it will broaden our knowledge base of the magical world; however, on the other hand, it does put a bit of a crack (not shatter) into the one world we hold in such high esteem.

what does everyone else think?

True. We have been locked into a closed magical compartment of Harry for several years.
It may be good to expand the knowledge base.*

*Though I'm not so sure I'm willing to put in the effort.

I agree about fresh info being important, but...

I was hoping they'd have a Harry Section and a Scamander section. I suppose there is enough cross-over (afterall Quidditch was created years before either of them, ditto most Spells and Potions), but mixing them together somehow isn't quite right for me yet. It would have been better to have a separate Scamander section at least until the second movie, then meld it all. Though I may just be predisposed that Harry's better or "the real one". I also would prefer some notation of Cannon, Movie, Game, etc.

so - how I am reading everyone's responses, is that we can use the words from Pottermore, but sparingly or very limited, since it isn't the (real) HP world.

The new Lexicon sure has some interesting articles - and he keeps adding more new links every week (awesome!)
One of his articles had this link in it explaining one professor's view on how JKR came about using the name Hogwarts.
this is the original article: Finding Hogwarts in Rowling’s past
this is one of the links inside the article: “Hogwarts Professor – Thoughts for Serious Readers”
The Professor's thoughts are very interesting!

These are really good. We should put them into our own archives.
