.Low pressure will approach from the west Wednesday morning and then re-develop across the gulf of Maine later Wednesday. The low is then expected to intensify as it tracks east toward the Canadian Maritimes Provinces Wednesday night through Thursday.

...WINTER STORM WARNING IN EFFECT FROM 1 PM WEDNESDAY TO 1 PM EST THURSDAY...
The National Weather Service in Caribou has issued a Winter Storm Warning for snow...which is in effect from 1 PM Wednesday to 1 PM EST Thursday. The Winter Storm Watch is no longer in effect.
* LOCATIONS...Downeast region and the Central Highlands.
* HAZARD TYPES...Snow.
* SNOW ACCUMULATIONS...9 to 12 inches.
* TIMING...Wednesday afternoon into Thursday afternoon.
* IMPACTS...Heavy snowfall along with reduced visibilities will make travel hazardous.
* WINDS...Northeast 10 to 20 mph with gusts up to 30 mph.
* TEMPERATURES...In the lower 20s.
* VISIBILITIES...Visibilities may drop to a quarter mile at times.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
A Winter Storm Warning for heavy snow means severe winter weather conditions are expected or occurring. Significant amounts of snow are forecast that will make travel dangerous.
