Are you referring to the weather, or your school years? :teasing-neener:

LOL - well, isn't it said that one's school years are the best days of their lives? Who wouldn't want to prolong that?

suppose to rain today ... hopefully it won't be an all day event.

I've heard that said, as well... And it's not the only lie I've ever heard. :naughty:

Temps. are to be somewhat constant throughout the week.
Of course with the shorter days, it's inevitable the temps. will drop. :handgestures-thumbup:

Did anyone/everyone/anyone see the Blood-Moon, the other night?

I sure did! It was really interesting.

I tried to take pics, but once it was mostly occulted my camera kept trying to make up for it being dark and it wouldn't take a good picture.

Gee... I wonder if there is anyone around here with the photographic skill-set to have taken pics like this? :icon-wink: :shifty:

I saw it while on the way to work. Rather strange looking.
Being thousands of feet closer to it than I, your view must have been a lot better.

A bazillion years ago (maybe 1980-ish) I saw a real Blood Moon when I was in Ohio. It was in Feb or March, possibly April, stupidly cold, and anyone with sense would have just stayed inside and glanced out the window, so of course I was outside laying on the font lawn. But it was so worth it! That one was a lot larger-looking and went genuinely deep red. The one last night was more smokey or rusty.

And, you're right about it being easier out here, Paint. I think it has more to do with lower population per square whatever so there's less light pollution. Back East I'd read about sailors and pioneers making their way by the stars, and with the exception of seeing a few constellations, I couldn't figure out how that would work... until I came out here where you can see SO MUCH MORE!

I wish I had known about it. 8-) I did see a beautiful moon this morning on my way to work - it did not look unusual though; did not know it was a blood moon. And I had my camera with me too LOL took some pics of long shadows this AM, arrived late to work because I had to wait until the sun was in the right spot ... needless to say, as much as the moon was lovely, I did not take the extra time to get the shot. (I am very much still a budding hobbyist anyway ... hardly anywhere near pro knowledge)

I used to love lying down and watching the stars ... maybe I'll have time to do those amazing things again once I retire. There is most likely near zero light pollution in my neck of the woods. I can't wait!

Would this be because you still light your homes with whale oil?

Yes Figgy, it looked more rusty than bloody.

well - we would, but the last whale that swam through here was used up about a century ago ... we, by far, are more into chicken fat products ... sometimes cat gut. *snigger*

what an absolutely gorgeous day here today ... oh how I wish I could have played hookie!
