The howler-ing winds have been incredibly nasty the last week!!!!
And they only let up for one day ... they are back again.

It may warm a little toward the end of the week, with rain. Snow until then.

Warmer today, but the winds continue.

It would seem that being the prairie state has its disadvantages.

While it is definitely winter here, I am so very, very, very, happy I do not live in Buffalo, NY.

Got up to a balmy -3C today. Though the winds were still gusting into the thirties.

We had to rebuild a container train today because of the weather in Buffalo.
It normally runs over the CSX, but because of the snow, the cars had to be reloaded with smaller containers, so as to be able to fit
through the Detroit Tunnel.

Should cool off again for tomorrow, but the winds are to continue.
It's rather unusual for the winds to be so consistently strong for such a long period of time.

I can't agree more ... while we often get winds, they has been rather severe for far too long.

Yet another great reason NOT to shuffle off to Buffalo...

My husband went to college there and was full of stories that screamed 'I don't wnat to live there'.

Example:
For the USA's Bicentennial (1976) the city decided to clean up the government buildings. They were generally industrial gray and dreary-looking. When it was all done the main City Building turned out to be a pretty sandy colour with bright decorative tiles along the facade. None of that had been seen since around the time McKinley was shot there...
