Luckily didn't have to tunnel out. Temps have been just high enough to melt a lot of the mounds and mounds of snow. Still have a ton of it around but it's slowly but surely going away. Luckily most of the crap is staying south of my neck of the woods lately. Just snow showers and light stuff, thank goodnss. But the winds have been brutal...and freezing! blah!

Glad to hear you weren't hit as hard as our little eastern provinces!
Unfortunately, as anxious as we all may be ... spring seems to want to take it's time.

Know how they feel tho a slow snow melt would be good considering how much we got and not wanting everything to flood. Supposed to be nice but cold (due to the wonderful Arctic winds following those darned low fronts).

Be on guard, Figgy! :o

... Red flag warning in effect from 9 am to 6 PM MDT Tuesday for
wind... low relative humidity and dry fuels for the southern Front
Range foothills and adjacent urban corridor...

The National Weather Service in Denver has issued a red flag
warning for wind and low relative humidity... which is in effect
from 9 am to 6 PM MDT Tuesday.

* Affected area... fire weather zones 216... 239 and 240.
* Timing... strong winds will develop Tuesday morning and continue through Tuesday afternoon.
* Winds... west 20 to 30 mph with gusts up to 40 mph.
* Relative humidity... as low as 13 percent.
* Impacts... new and existing fires may experience rapid fire growth.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A red flag warning means that critical fire weather conditions
are either occurring now... or will shortly. A combination of
strong winds... low relative humidity... and warm temperatures can
contribute to extreme fire behavior.

The dusting of snow that was predicted, dusted in almost 6" of the beautiful stuff.
Rather wet and heavy, though. :occasion-snowman:

Yeah PH, the snow hitting farther east isn't a good thing. We were running 111% of average a couple months ago, now down to low 90%s... and we're the good basin. March is statistically our snowiest month, but so far there's only been a couple inches recorded in Denver (higher up here, but still not up to normal). I much prefer shoveling over toasting.

But you like thunder and lightning! Happiness now comes from looking up rather than looking down :handgestures-thumbupright:
