it has become the unofficial weekend to kick start summer. Parks open, hotels increase their rates ... that kind of thing. Almost anyone who has a camper/trailer is on the road (no matter how long since they last drove), and everyone head to "somewhere". Anyone who has a cabin, heads to the lake(s). Me, because of the amount of idiots on the road, stay home.

The US's Memorial Day has turned into the same. It was originally to remember war dead, when people went to cemeteries, cleaned everything up, put geraniums at the headstones, VFW put flags on soldiers graves... but has turned into start of Summer/cookout season.
Is this really her birthday, or when she was coronated, or?
