She was just showing off. Little did she know, everyone reads it that way.

Sometimes her Gravity Stabilizing Spells go wonky and she's stuck up-side-down. The Spectra Specs cut the dizziness from being up-side-down too long.

Who/what/where is (a/the) Trevor?

What is a 'Bluebottle', and what is it used for?

Veritaserum needs to be kept in a Bluebottle so that it does not go rancid.

How do witches & wizards keep their food frozen if they don't have electricity?

They use these large metal boxes (which are usually white enameled, but can be other colors - singularly or multiple colours together), that sit in their kitchen humming along. They are imbued with long-term chilling Charms and alarms that go off if the Spells begin to wear out.

As long as we're talking about kitchen appliances, are stoves needed by the magical community or is that just to assist the intention of the Spells?

.

Magical folk only eat raw vegetables, so stoves are unnecessary.

Has Garrotting Gas ever been used at Hogwarts?
If so, by whom, and why?

Garroting Gas was used when the Chamber of Secrets was opened in 1942 or 43, to return the monster to The Chamber, by Armando Dippit. He was so traumatized by having to do this that he resigned as Headmaster of Hogwarts.

Who managed to open The Chamber in '42-43?

There is no such thing as the Chamber of Secrets ... the castle has been searched many, many times.

What is a basilisk?
