Looks to be nice your way for the next week, with the exception of maybe a shower on Sun.
Enjoy! The nicer the autumn, the stronger the winter. :teasing-neener:

:angry-tappingfoot: not funny!
and please please please don't let it rain Sunday ... I have too many people for Thanksgiving dinner! It is great when I can use the outdoors.

You make your guests eat outside with the dogs and owls?

My sources are showing a 47% chance between 1&2 in the afternoon, Sunday.
If they're coming over for Thanksgiving, it shouldn't be a problem.

lol - dinner is between 1 & 2. guess we are eating inside. no worries
at this time of year, the only outside issue is with wasps.

Thought Thanksgiving was Monday?

I'm waiting for a good freeze to remove a wasp's nest from just outside the door.
This time of year they do start becoming a pest as they are preparing for winter.
The ones around here are not aggressive. But they can get annoying.

BTW: It seems you entertain quite often. However, it appears they rarely return in kind... Is it just that you are a better host, or superior cook?

thanksgiving day is on Monday ... but most of the meals are on the Sunday of any long weekend. More convenient for those who has to travel. Plus it gives me at least one of the three days off to clean up and/or rest

lol - I have been cooking since I was 10 - guess I have had a bit of practice. My daughter isn't exactly the domestic type so she will never take over the torch. I have been doing the family meals forever ... I guess everyone expects it - or I am a perpetual glutton for punishment. I am thankful that the Christmas meal has been taken over. Mind you, it is frustrating when they set a meal time and it is always, always never near the time they say - especially for my aging parents. Making them wait three hours because they cant get their butts out of bed to get the meal ready in time is really not very acceptable (and it happens year after year). I am not sure what's up with the younger people today; I know that I certainly would never have done that. Oh well ... at least I am not the one cooking; guess I should be happy with that. Easter and Thanksgiving are big meals ... I am usually dead on my feet by the end of the day. Guess I am not as young and as spry as I used to be.

* Say it isn't so!

I was thinking you just feared being poisoned by the relatives...

yup - 'fraid so ... gett'n older
maybe I will take the Christmas meal back after I retire. For now, it just doesn't work for me.

lol - the relatives wouldn't poison me ... I cook too many meals for them; not to mention the extra bed that is so easy to get to after a long night of competitive card games :happy-smileyflower:

My Mom was always the cook/host person when I was growing up. She'd have her alarm clock in hand and get a couple hours sleep here and there, but really be up all night fiddling with the turkey. And, since we used the "good dishes" for major holiday meals, she was the only one she trusted to wash them without them getting chipped. (These were her hope chest china and the heirloom silverware.)

Very memorable tradition! Go Howler!

Looks like the chances of rain have increased for you. Plus, strong winds are coming.
Good luck with the holiday meal.
