The Shawshank Redemption?

never heard of it ... guess I had better look it up.

You never heard of The Shawshank Redmption? It one of the best movies ever! Its from a Steven King book, with Morgan Freeman (he's the "Red" character clue), Tim Robbins, James Whitmore, and a bunch of other good actors. Its really good.

ahh ... that would be why I have never watched it. Steven King's stuff is usually horror; don't watch or read Steven King.

This isn't horror genre. I don't watch or read "horror" either.

Its the story of a wrongfully accused guy in the 1940s going to prison and doing some amazing things. eg: The clue about the record - he works his way into working in the warden's office, one day he locks the guards out and plays opera music over the loudspeaker system. He gets tossed into solitary for it, but it reminds everyone about beauty and being human. There are quite a few things like that in it.

Interesting. I saw the flick, but really didn't care for it.
It was however, nice to see James Whitmore.
