Harry Potter Fans With No Life

I feel the same way this year Figgy. Just not excited about it at all.
Mind you, if I was retired it would be a different story - we got a ton of hoar frost on Tuesday; I could have drove around all day getting some stunning photos (too dark by the time I get home on a work day). Those type of days always cheer me up.

on another note - bloody hell it is cold out. No end to the freeze in sight!

We're in that boat (single digits at night, not including the wonderful windchill) until about Tuesday. Supposed to warm up a bit with snow/rain Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday...wish it was enough to melt my driveway. damn.

We got that very cold cold and knee deep snow for several days then today, Sunday, it was enough above freezing to be rain (which made for delightful driving, I'm sure. I stayed home.)

This place I am living in is two stories on one side and my part is only one story wrapped around the south and east sides. It also has a metal roof. As it warmed up today the second story roof kept sliding the melting/compacting snow "avalanching" it onto my roof... which produced a range of sounds similar to someone dropping a 100lb box of books that far onto the roof, to a small piano, to a fairly large man jumping down eight or so feet onto it. This would be accompanied by shaking the whole building in varying amounts depending on the initial whump's force. There is no way that it can't be doing structural damage... oh joy. And the dog thinks its really special.

oh my! I do hope the grade of the roof is steep so that it will slide off quickly as the sun shines on it!

bitter, bitterly cold today with stiff breezes (oh yay) right now, with the wind chill, we are at -44C (-47F). We are expected to get to a high of -23
(and same predicted for tomorrow)

the warming Chinook is expected to begin moving in tomorrow sometime ... YAY!

Last night was a hoot. It wasn't snowing at all when went into a store for about 45 minutes, but came out to find an inch of snow on the car and so much coming down so fast that in the time it took to I make it around the car once with the snow brush, the first part done was completely covered in at least another 1/4" of snow. It was ankle deep when I got home a few minutes later. {Then once I had everything I'd gone out to get into the house, and tracked snow in all over the place, and all the stuff I was carrying had snow stuck to it, it quit altogether.}

lol - when I lived in Michigan, we got snow like that. It doesn't usually happen that fast where I live now.
today - I am so very glad yesterday's winds have calmed. It was just brutal. The snow drifts are packed down like concrete!

it is supposed to warm up tomorrow - and I am going to hold them to that prediction!
