I keep forgetting about how much shorter the daylight hours are in the mountains and how much earlier the fireworks begin. We generally wait until after 11pm before the first one pops.

Ours started at dark, I'm guessing 9-9:20-ish. We got home around 10:30-ish, having waited until almost all the traffic had cleared out before we even attempted to leave the parking area.

Environment Canada has issued a Heat advisory/warning for my neck of the woods (for the weekend)

because we are so dry up here it is unbelievable! One of our 'lakes' which is (or was) a marsh - many miles wide and long - has completely dried up. I was shocked to see that last week; still in shock actually. I've been around here for 14 years and have never seen it without water.

That could be a major problem since you're in that big "North-South Flyway" the migratory birds use/need.
