Well, Monday morning was a hoot. Driving to work in the dark, getting kinda blown around a bit, made it to work in one piece, thank goodness. But 70+ mile an hour winds knocked the power out at 8:18 am Monday morning, came back on 6:38 pm Wednesday evening. Our bosses let us go home at 3:30 Monday afternoon, so we'd all get home while it was still light and check for damage. Got lucky - no damage to my house, only small and medium size twigs all over. One of my neighbors did have some minor roof damage but that's it. As soon as the power came back on, furnace kicked right in. No having to bleed it out. Yea! After 2 cold nights, was nice having heat. Most of us had power back on yesterday, still some don't have power yet. Mainly most outlying areas, where it's hard to get to and downed trees are still a problem.

A lot of people lost all of the food in their refrigerators and freezers - Muggle Son and Jo lost about $300 worth but it's covered, up to $500, through their renter's insurance. Luckily I didn't lose much, as I didn't have a lot in either - enough to last until pay day, which is my normal grocery shopping day. I did grocery shopping yesterday instead of waiting until Monday. Spent $151 to replace everything but at least my refrigerator and freezer are no longer lonely. lol.

Going to be in the 50s today, 60s tomorrow with rain then cool off to more seasonal temps, 40s. During the day. At least it'll be sunny. The weather guys are saying we may have snow flurries Friday. Yup, getting to be that time of year, I guess, tho I'm not ready for it just yet.

so glad there was no damage to your place Moo. those nasty winds went across the country for sure! (maybe even around the globe) they were nasty nasty!

I would love to be having temps in the 50's or 60's ... DROOL!
we got nearly a foot of snow Friday night and yesterday. Our highs for this week will be around the -9C (15F) and our lows are in the -15C area (5F)

as much as I hate to send it your way, maybe there is a chance it will hit Paint's neck of the woods first ... we all know how much he likes the cooler weather.

Very true. Paint would most definitely be in heaven. lol. Got cold, glad I filled my oil tank last month, heat good. Got a few snow showers Friday, may get some tomorrow but nothing major. Barely enough to coat my windshield. Been cold at night...teens, upper teens if we're lucky. And a wonderful, balmy low to mid 30s during the day. With wind. Not much change for the coming week. Pretty much SSDD - same stuff, different day. Yippee.

my lord ... the winds!!
please, could someone speak to mother nature and ask her to ease up on the winds !!!!!!!!
enough already!
5-days a week with high winds and only two days little wind is driving me (and many others) crazy!!!) aaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhh

yesterday was supposed to get to a high of +4C (39F); the blasted winds took what could have been a nice day, but rather dropped the temps to a real feel of -16C (3F)

more of the same is predicted today, only our high is supposed to only be -6C (21F)
