I think we just missed getting the blizzard warning a few counties got earlier. But wow...white out conditions big time. At one point, couldn't see the trees in the neighbor's yard across the street! Wound up with at least a foot. Only good thing...mainly all fluff so didn't take me as long to dig out my car. Supposed to be decent but cold, cold, cold. I can live with that.

Been in a deep freeze for so long (double digit below 0), temps in the 20s yesterday felt like summer. lol. Luckily we got a snow day today so no driving in a blizzard. Yea! And my driveway was just plowed so only need to unbury my car in the morning. Then the deep freeze returns. Yippee. Yahoo.

So you aren't getting buried in snow from the Bomb Storm or whatever they're calling it? They keep showing what looks like a hurricane on our news and saying how its leaving snow farther inland that a normal NorEaster.

Glad you're ok. Keep us posted.

Bomb storm - don't know who came up with that crap. It was an old-fashioned blizzard, plain and simple. lol. Saw that on the news, too, Figgy. Bad for the coastal towns...astronomical high tides. Flooded a lot of places but nothing in my neck of the woods that I could tell.

Got about 20 inches; had a nice snow drift on my windshield this morning. That was a first. Unburying my car was fun - last time it was mostly on the passenger side; this time, mainly the front was buried. The plow guy had to do my driveway again this morning. Now getting ready for another deep freeze this weekend. We get our January thaw next week.

So far, doing good. 8-)

I think in this current political environment, hyperbole is the expected norm....

I think making words more hip and cool, or more exaggerated, devalues them. A good old blizzard is much better of a description than a "Bomb Storm".

Keep warm and safe, and especially, Keep in touch!

I agree with both of you. Sometimes new language is okay but also old school is best, depending on what's going on...such as a blizzard. lol. What's the old cliché...a rose by any other name is still a rose...

A little snow tomorrow, nothing major. Should be in the 30s, 40s Wednesday and/or Thursday then we might get to 50 degrees by Friday. More cold returning next week but don't know how cold yet. This has been one of the strangest winters so far. Yikes!

We've had the winds from hell the last couple days ... which has blown in deep freeze weather.
crap it's cold again, and it looks like these frigid temps will be around for a while

on the bright side ... there is approx only 31 more days until I begin to drive to work in daylight (yay)

We've been getting 1 - 3 inches of snow but wow, didn't that make the roads one hell of a mess to drive on. Yikes! And yuck! Our deep freezes have lasted on a day after the snow. Very weird weather. Today, we get rain along after the snow accompanied by winds; temps are supposed to stay above freezing, up to mid 40s. Hoping my driveway doesn't turn into an ice rink again.

Howler, I hear ya on the driving issue. Looking forward to driving to work in the daylight AND driving home while it's still light out.

since we don't use daylight savings time (YAY!), I always get home before it gets completely dark during the winter. It can get nearly dark if the sky is clouded over though ... but normally it is still somewhat light out. (as long as I don't have to stop and shop after work that is)
