I hear ya on that...no driving on crappy roads good. The temps over the past few weeks did the same here. Allowed my driveway to di-ice and the mounds of snow to shrink nicely, of course, just in time for the next 2 snow storms (30" total blah). lol. Now we're just cold and dealing with wind chills. Not supposed to last too long but we'll see. Two potential storms this week; Tuesday is still supposed to miss us but Thursday have to keep an eye on. Fingers crossed.

We got around 4-5 inches of snow yesterday evening/night, but its sunny right now and melting off like crazy. It was just dumping at times, and we really need the water... but I still like warmer and pretty over freezing and sliding ....

Looks like 3 to 6 inches Wednesday night into Thursday so that's doable. Just hoping it doesn't get any worse. And I'm with both of you. I love snow but this time of year, I'm so sick and tired of it. Time for the snow to migrate to Figgy's neck of the woods to help ease their drought conditions. So ready for warmer temps so I can open my windows and get some fresh air in here.

Happy Spring to all you Northern-ers, and Happy Autumn to Tonks, Sixxy, and Doc Susie!

Our one Denver TV station just showed their "stats" for this year... They are a few thousand feet lower in altitude, so are more of a banana belt than where I live, but its still close enough to make me worry about the fire season that's coming....

Denver snowiest to least snowy months and the average snowfall in each :
March 11.4", April 8.9", Dec. 8.1", Feb. 7.7", Nov. 7.5", Jan. 6.6".

This month they only have had 0.7", this season 19.4", Average for a season there is 46.5".

So, Denver has had under half the snow they usually get over a winter. While we have had more snow than they have, its still below half what it should be up here, too.

You guys have been hogging all our snow!

.

Happy Spring!

Not by choice, trust me. We're not supposed to get much but maybe what we don't get will find Figgy's neck of the woods...late season blizzard. March isn't done yet...fingers crossed...

I agree ... certainly not by choice. mind you, we have been in drought conditions for a couple years now, so we also need the moisture. I just simply prefer moisture in a form I don't have to shovel.

more nasty snow and storms on their way.... Feb and March have been brutal this year. Our Feb went down in history as one of the coldest months since weather has been recorded. Is it too much to ask for warm weather and rain showers?????

Oh joy - just what I wanted ... high winds and lots of snow ... (NOT!)
We've been getting snow storms every weekend this month ... enough already!

Warnings
4:22 AM CST Thursday 22 March 2018
Winter storm warning in effect for:

R.M. of Canaan including Lucky Lake
R.M. of Coulee including Neidpath and McMahon
R.M. of Excelsior including Waldeck Rush Lake and Main Centre
R.M. of Glen Bain including Glen Bain
R.M. of Lac Pelletier including Blumenhof
R.M. of Lacadena including Kyle Tyner and Sanctuary
R.M. of Lawtonia including Hodgeville
R.M. of Morse including Herbert Morse Ernfold and Gouldtown
R.M. of Riverside including Cabri Pennant and Success
R.M. of Saskatchewan Landing including Stewart Valley
R.M. of Swift Current including Swift Current and Wymark
R.M. of Victory including Beechy
R.M. of Webb including Webb and Antelope lake
R.M. of Whiska Creek including Vanguard Neville and Pambrun

A low pressure system now near the Pacific coast will bring a wintery mix to southwestern Saskatchewan tonight and early Friday morning.

Locally dense fog will lift this morning.

Bands of rain or freezing rain will begin this evening before turning to snow overnight. This snow will end Friday morning. Snowfall amounts will be quite variable with up to 10 cm over higher terrain in the Cypress Hills.

As well, locally strong wind gusts of 90 km/h are likely in the lee of the Cypress Hills late this afternoon and into Thursday night.

Travellers should note that this weather system will affect a good portion of the Canadian and American prairies with a variety of wintery weather today, Friday, and Saturday.

Prepare for quickly changing and deteriorating travel conditions.

ew! Stay safe, Howler.

Looks like we'll be in a bit of a lull for a the next week. Snow showers Sunday and that's pretty much it. Rumors of low 50s sometime next week. Yea! Maybe you can get some of that snow to go Figgy's way to help their drought conditions. We've had our share here, too, tho it's been a couple of years.
